To be honest with you, you can’t just tell people that ONE thing is the cause of their headache or migraine. More often than not, it’s not just ONE thing and people that claim that it’s just one thing… are not to be trusted.

There is so much complexity with migraines. When you go to a migraine/headache clinic, the majority of the time they use the same protocol on pretty much everybody. How is that for individualized care?

The cause may be a nutritional deficiency, hormonal imbalances, anxiety, toxins, stress, reversed cervical (neck) curve, and so on.

 How to get rid of it all?

What I can tell you is that Chiropractic is the MOST effective way to get rid of your headaches and migraines. This is because we work on your Nervous System including your brain, brainstem, spinal cord which control and coordinate EVERYTHING in your body. Knowing the history of the patient and performing a thorough structural examination, I then take X-rays to understand the structure of their spine, once I know what’s going on there, I help them heal through gentle specific upper cervical Chiropractic adjustments, structural correction of their spine and giving them structural exercises to keep the corrections fixed. There is no magic bullet with migraines. You have to change anything that contributes to your migraines otherwise if you’re just getting rid of a headache or migraine, you are basically just getting rid of a symptom (just like the medications do) and yes you may have gotten rid of your headaches for a few months, but they will come back again and again.

Here is a list of food triggers for migraines, if you are really desperate to help yourself then stop consuming these. You may be more sensitive to one than the other so once you’ve figured that out, I think it’s safe to say that you may have an intolerance to that food group so it’s best to stay away from it completely.
